The Kingdom of Heaven
Today we expand our awareness of the Spiritual possibilities of our human life experience. We affirm that the Kingdom of Heaven lies within us, waiting to express into our creative consciousness once we release fear and resistance. With every challenge, every chance, every new awareness, we move closer to a full expression of the Kingdom.
Jesus spoke frequently about the Kingdom of Heaven. Many of His contemporaries wanted to believe that He was referring to a political kingdom that would come into being once the Romans were expelled and Jews were once again in control of their own land. But Jesus said, the Kingdom of Heaven is within you. And He devoted many parables to helping people understand the Kingdom of Heaven as a state of consciousness. "The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed in with three measures of flour until it was leavened." (Matthew 13:33) "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which someone found and hid; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field." (Matthew 13:44).
These parables teach us that the Kingdom of Heaven is within us. It is hidden, but it can transform every part of our lives just as the leaven affects every bit of flour. And once found, it is more valuable than anything else we may have.
