God is inviting you to know Him in a deeper, more personal way this Lenten season. He beckons you to draw close, to drop your defenses, and to experience His unconditional love. "Come back to me with your whole heart," He calls. "I will give you back the joy of your salvation."
Will you be exposed?
Undoubtedly Lent brings us face to face with our humanity and reveals that darkness still dwells in our souls. We can't remember the Passion without confronting our part in it.
But even as we mourn over our sinfulness, we rejoice that God sent His Son into the world to save us. And just as Ash Wednesday reminds us that our bodies and all we have will one day return to dust, Easter's empty tomb thrills our hearts with the knowledge that, because He is risen, we too will be raised!
PRAYER:
Grant, Almighty God, that in this season of Lent we may grow in our understanding of the riches hidden in Christ. Renew us, O Lord. Make our conduct worthy of Your Holy Name. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, the Author and Finisher of our faith. Amen.
