MORAL STORY (The Little Hut)

The Little Hut

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverously for God to rescue him and every day he scanned the horizon for help but none seemed to be coming.
Beginning to feel a sense of hopelessness, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood so that he could have shelter. He resolved that he would be on the island until his time on earth was through.
Then one day, after he was off scavanging for food, he arrived to his hut only to find it in flames, the smoke rolling up into the sky. The worst had happened and he was now stunned with a mixture of grief and anger.
"God, how could You do this to me?" he cried. Now, really feeling hopeless and depressed he laid down in deep sorrow and fell asleep.
Early the next day, however, he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was approaching the island. It had come to rescue him.
"How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man to his rescuers.
"We saw your smoke signal." they replied.

MORAL:  Sometimes, it's easy to get discouraged and feel a sense of
hopelessness when things appear to be going badly. But we
shouldn't lose heart because God is at work in our lives, even in the
                  midst of pain and suffering.

So remember, the next time your little hut is burning to the ground, it
just may be a smoke signal that summons the grace of God.

Romans 8:28  And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.  (NLT)
